There has been recent speculation about a potential transfer for goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez from Aston Villa to Manchester United. Although Manchester United did not initially plan to acquire a first-choice goalkeeper this summer, they have expressed interest in Martinez and reportedly approached Aston Villa about a loan deal, which did not happen.
Rumors have recently resurfaced, with Martinez now being considered a possible alternative to Royal Antwerp’s Senne Lammens. Both players missed their respective club’s recent matches, which has fueled the transfer speculation, particularly given that Lammens has missed two consecutive matches.
According to a report from the Manchester Evening News, new details have emerged about the potential move:
* Personal Terms and Negotiations: Manchester United reportedly reached a personal agreement with Martinez on Sunday. Talks with Aston Villa are said to be ongoing.
* Player’s Stance: Journalist Fabrizio Romano claims that Martinez has expressed his desire to join Manchester United to his club.
* Jadon Sancho’s Future: It’s also reported that negotiations for Martinez may be tied to a separate deal for Jadon Sancho. Discussions are expected to continue on transfer deadline day.
When asked about Martinez’s absence from the recent match, Aston Villa head coach Unai Emery stated that the goalkeeper was not focused and “100 percent” ready to play. Emery’s comments suggest that Martinez’s future is uncertain, and he would only want players who are fully committed to
the club.
